Every year, vivo aims to lead the race for the world’s best camera phone, and this year, with the X100 Ultra, it seeks to continue this tradition. The company has previously confirmed the X100 Ultra model and has now announced its launch date.
Additionally, the first images of the X100 Ultra have been released. The introduction of the vivo X100 Ultra marks the debut of Blueprint Image technology in our lives. This technology encompasses a range of important advancements from artificial intelligence to health-based visual technologies.

Sharing on Weibo, vivo’s Vice President and General Manager of Brand and Product Strategy, Jia Jingdong, provided significant information about the X100 Ultra visuals. According to his post, the vivo X100 Ultra is set to launch in May, but this date currently only applies to China. It remains unclear when the model will be introduced globally.
Perhaps the most notable aspect of this announcement is the introduction of Blueprint Image technology. While Jia Jingdong discussed the technology in broad terms, it appears that generative artificial intelligence features will be included with the X100 Ultra. His post hinted at important details regarding the AI features of the vivo X100 Ultra, such as generating images from text and enhancing photos creatively with AI.
Interestingly, this technology is represented by a logo called BlueImage, though the full name of the technology is Blueprint Image.
vivo is also exploring features for early diagnosis of conditions like diabetes and stroke using the camera, although these are not yet available. In the future, the vivo Blueprint Image is expected to include AI features for diagnosing health conditions from camera images. Moreover, BlueImage or Blueprint Image technology will consolidate all the camera technologies vivo plans to use under a single brand, as per the announcement.
With the X100 Ultra, vivo introduces the VCS image engine technology along with the NICE algorithm it developed. Additionally, the partnership between vivo and Carl Zeiss continues, with a focus on using their own image processing algorithm alongside Blueprint Image technology. It was also highlighted that joint image processing technologies have been developed with Carl Zeiss.
The X100 Ultra images shared by Jingdong have sparked interest, and it is anticipated that the model will feature four cameras.

Indeed, the visuals confirm these predictions. The X100 Ultra will feature a periscope camera with a 200-megapixel resolution, 200x digital zoom, and 4.3x optical zoom. Additionally, the main camera will include a LYT-900 main sensor with a resolution of 50 megapixels. The vivo X100 Ultra will also boast a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera setup.
The screen of the X100 Ultra is also notable. It will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 2K resolution. On the processor front, the X100 Ultra will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It is currently unclear whether the model will be introduced in May.
